Perfect Panoramas and Endless Horizons

“Homes celebrate life,” say the architects at Spasm Design, then continuing: “They celebrate views, geographies, locales, climates…” Indeed, their recent private home The Soaring Rock takes full advantage of the surrounding climate lush with farmlands, a reservoir, and faraway rocky highlands. Wide, sweeping walls of glass offer panoramic views of nature’s palette, and the horizon seems endless from a number of points in the home, including the terracotta terrace and the expansive pool. The highlight, however, is the boulder from which the house gets it name: cantilevered on a six-meter-long projection, a four-ton rock hangs offers a brief break from the straight lines and disciplined order by which the architectural design is ruled.
