In many of the projects I create there’s an important role for icons. They are everywhere and in almost every application or website we use (especially outline icons). Sure you can custom create them but that’s not always useful or practical. I only do this for the special ones that need a more personal or specific approach. So instead of trying to re-invent the wheel I turn to my always expanding icon library. I’m always on the lookout for the best icon resources. Here’s are the latest additions to it.

Picons Thin

Gašper Vidovič’s Picons Thin outline icon set is always among the first ones I go to when I’m searching for an icon. That set was released more than 3 years ago with a big update to them in 2015. Now this beautiful outline set has had another big update. Picons Thin 2 is an extension to the original Picons Thin outline icon set with 663 new icons, sorted into 30 categories: Charts & Analytics, Business, Money & Finance 2, E-Commerce, Delivery, Badges, Maps & Navigation 2, Movies 2, Media Controls, Essentials 2, Devices, Architecture & Construction, Print & Papers, School & Learning, Relationship, Pregnancy & Baby, Leisure & Fun 2, Winter Holidays, Food & Cooking 2, Home & Living 2, Wellness & Beauty, SEO & Marketing, Users & People 2, Communication & Messaging 2, Hierarchy, Files & Documents 2, Network & Sharing 2, GUI elements 2, Office, Law Enforcement, and Touch Gestures 2.

The icon set comes with all the usual vector source files (AI, EPS and PDF), a Sketch file, a Photoshop file (PSD) with icons as Custom Shapes, a special CSH file for importing icons into your Custom Shape toolbar, and each icon as transparent a PNG (available in 6 different sizes: 24, 48, 72, 96, 120 and 144 pixels). There is also an included Iconjar archive, SVG files so you can create your own individual icon font, and EMF files to be used in Microsoft Office.

I didn’t hesitate and bought the update. It’s $35 for the 663 icons. If you don’t have the first collection you can save 25% when you buy both.

Simple Line Icons Pro

Another set that is almost as good the above one are these Simple Line Icons Pro. I’ve discovered them in this $29 deal. It’s a set of 1660 icons that is organized in 22 categories. These categories are: Essentials/Interface, Arrows, communications, Files/Folders, Users, Photo/Audio/Video, Editorial/Content, Devices/Technology, Network/Transfers, Web/Programming, Design, E-Commerce/Shopping, Finance/Business, Education/Science, Time/Map/Location, Transportation, Votes/Rewards, Health/Medicine, Food/Cooking, Social Media/Brands, Object/Tools, and Misc.

You also get a wide range of sizes and each icon was meticulously crafted to align perfectly on 4 different pixel grids: 24px, 32px, 48px, 60px. No more fuzzy icons at small sizes! All files and folders are neatly organized and each icon is properly named. Important when you search!

That $29 is a sweet price for this icon set because it’s more than double when you buy the same set on Creative Market. Everybody loves to save some money, so be sure to go look at this deal, because there are plenty of more vector items in it, and maybe there’s something useful in there for you too. It’s a bargain for those icons alone. The title of this deal says it all. The Totally Diverse Vectors Collection.

Nurture your creativity! Please sit back and soak in all the design goodness I discover as I explore print & web design, photography, art, type, and more.
