Barcelona’s Fundació Miró, a museum for contemporary art named for artist Joan Miró, prepared to celebrate its 40th anniversary with an identity and campaign designed by creative studio Mucho. To immediately convey the campaign’s purpose to viewers, Mucho generated a modular typographic system based on the museum’s iconic architecture and characteristic skylights. The bold, rounded font produces the 40 in signage and posters and constitutes important dates in the museum’s history. Barcelona natives immediately recognized the out-of-home advertising in connection with Fundació Miró, and the campaign received recognition on social networks for the logo’s timeless appeal.
