Creative agency Young & Rubicam used Instagram’s photo grid format to promote the recently released Discovery Sport. Two audio-visual adventure stories guide visitors through outdoor journeys to Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho or the wilderness near Kanab, Utah. The campaign features photography of the destinations’ natural beauty, stitched together by a grid format to form a long panorama, transitioning from one scene to the next. Instagram users can select specific photos on the grid to watch a short film or learn technical off-roading knowledge and wilderness survival skills. In both journeys, viewers can interact with hundreds of photo tiles and more than 20 films per adventure. It might even inspire a trip beyond your phone.
