Intel’s in-house advertising agency created the Meet the Makers campaign to showcase inventors and their applications of Intel’s Edison microprocessor. Filmed by production company Houseblend Media, the first ad of the series tells the story of young inventor Shubham Banerjee who, at age thirteen, created an affordable braille printer using a Lego robotics kit and the Edison chip. Houseblend Media kept the production simple and organic to let viewers feel the gravitas of the story, choosing to shoot footage around the inventor’s home as well as at a school for the blind. Viewers have connected to the story on an emotional level; the commercial alone has garnered more than a million views on YouTube.
