To celebrate its commitment to local civic life, the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) created a unique publication for community leaders and elected officials called UCLA Blueprint. The new magazine presents UCLA’s research on key issues impacting the city. The debut edition explores the issue of public safety and highlights the university’s expertise in matters important to the region. Rent Control, an Orange County, California–based design firm, worked with the university’s public affairs school to develop a format that uses a contemporary illustration style to illuminate the complex topics tackled in the publication.
