To mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the Jersey Post is releasing a rather beautiful set of graphic stamps designed by hat-trick

Hat-trick’s Gareth Howat says that “Our inspiration partly came from the iconic poster designers of the time such as Abram Games….It helped start us thinking in terms of the strong compositions and graphic qualities that we wanted.”

Hat-trick designed the stamps entirely in-house with original imagery, rather than using historical photographs or elements. A nice detail sees tiny text worked into each design relating to a different aspect of the Battle. For example, the design below explains that “Barrage balloons were used to protect cities and key targets”

Here is the full set of stamps. Details here

Hat-trick previously designed another WW2 set of stamps for Jersey Post, this time celebrating VE Day and the liberation of the Channel Islands
