Over the last 19 years, OFFF has become one of the most important digital design festivals in the world. Since 2011, the OFFF on Tour has been touring the most relevant cities in the world with international visitors travel from all over the world to attend a live OFFF event. This October, Vienna is ready to welcome the creatives with OFFF Vienna 2019 kicking off on 4th and 5th of October for two days of a very colorful and inspiring design wonderland.
“Connect, grow and inspire people through interdisciplinary art and creativity in order to boost the knowledge exchange and collaboration” is OFFF’s motto and with the theme “Inflatable”, the OFFF Vienna is more than ready to host a variety of activities and talks to inspire and inform.
Vienna will once again become the hotspot of the international creative community and this year sees numerous highly acclaimed designers and aboard the festival’s diverse stage of speakers.

Per OFFF Vienna the festival’s diversity is not limited to the stage – apart from workshops and an experience area with exciting exhibitors from the design sector, the venue offers two days of creative exchange with thirteen speakers from more than eight nations who are destined to inspire visitors and participants from all over the world.
From the pioneer of creative coding Joshua Davis to the innovative Canadian studio Valleé Duhamel through the living legend of graphic design, the iconic Lance Wyman whose design of the visual identity of the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City is widely celebrated as a pinnacle of environmental and branding design and the hyped experimentations in type of the London-based Yarza Twins or Austrian illustrator Birgit Palma whose letterings and surrealistic compositions which experiment with colors, shapes, and optical illusions – have already attracted clients such as Nike, Adobe, and Samsung and Marta Cerdà whose custom typography and design spirit has won over customers such as Apple, MF Doom, Die Zeit, The Guardian, and Nike OFFF Vienna 2019 sounds impressive.
Last but not least OFFF Vienna 2019 hosts a variety of workshops spanning from the beauty of paper with graphic designer and author of „Bücher binden“ Anna Frey presenting the world of Japanese bookbinding to the emerging technology of variable fonts explained by Dalton Maag this October it’s all about typography all over again.

A graphic designer specializing in systems for cities, events, institutions and transit systems this living legend of the creative industry has created the legendary 1968 Mexico Olympics identity, a project which built him an international reputation as a graphic designer and the resulting design program, a multidimensional integration of logos, typography, and color, is considered a pinnacle of environmental and branding design. Over the past five decades he has helped to define the field of environmental graphics. He teaches corporate and wayfinding design at Parsons where he has been a visiting lecturer since 1973.
