Jan Vranovsky Captures Unusual Urban Scenes

Designer and architecture student Jan Vranovsky photographs places in Japan and East Asia. His images often have a somewhat dark and unreal quality, as he focuses on places that seem deserted or uninhabited. Vranovsky’s sharp eye for architecture, composition, and color makes it feels like we’re looking at an installation rather than a photograph. The artist says that he is “particularly interested in capturing cultural patterns unwittingly occurring in mundane, often neglected or less known urban areas.”
