An abandoned castle in France

It’s always strangely fascinating to look at photographs of abandoned places, such as Pierre Folk’s By The Silent Line or the beautiful eery shots by Austrian photographer Thomas Windisch. Which is why you’ll appreciate this next series of abandonment, this time courtesy of a French photographer simply named Jonk.

From forgotten castles, churches and schools to old, crumbling theatres and former factories – Jonk loves to travel the length and breadth of Europe to discover some of the most abandoned places on Earth. The following images were taken in France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland and Ukraine. Discover more over on Facebook.
