Illustrator and artist Sarah Illenberger isn’t afraid to bring colors back to Berlin. Lush with a rich palette of colors, her work often involves everyday interventions imposed upon sprawling natural artifacts, as was the case in her previous “Wonderplants” series. For this year’s edition of Berlin Gallery Weekend, she took to Marsano Blumen to showcase her latest work: blooming bouquets made entirely from balloons. Rich with colors and deep textures formed from the simple party favors, each pieces offers a playful but studied take on the floral artistry for which Marsano is known.
“Solid Air” opens today and will be on display through June 2. See more of Illenberger’s work in our book Sarah Illenberger, or see more dynamic photos pushing the boundaries of a classic form in our book The Still Life.
