Rafael de Cárdenas held nothing back for this private pool in a countryside estate. The pool itself, for example, is set into a framed by a walkway made from Botticino marble with matching slabs acting as its walls. Broad skylights protect swimmers from sleet, hail, or whatever else the clouds may bring, and fiberglass paneling curbs the otherwise-resonant echoes while allowing light to flow freely into the enclosure. The skylights bend together like a dome, creating a palette of textures and shapes to accentuate the cream-colored ceiling. The centerpiece? A set of twin slides made from fiberglass and glazed by hand with resin offer a dramatic entrance for anyone who desires.
