London’s Covent Garden has unveiled a spectacular light installation for this year’s Christmas decorations called ‘Meet Me Under the Mistletoe’, created by celebrated production designer Michael Howells.

Credited with realising some of the most spectacular sets in fashion and film, Howells has designed fashion shows for the likes of Alexander McQueen, and collaborated with luxury mega brands including Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior.

His new design for Covent Garden is the area’s most ambitious Christmas scheme yet, and has illuminated the Market Building with over 40 magnificent mistletoe chandeliers – each ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 metres in size, and adorned with almost 700 glistening berries. Over 320 metres of garlands unite the chandeliers, with around 100,000 pealights suspended from above. Outside, the world famous Piazza is once again hosting London’s biggest hand-picked Christmas tree.
