Last Saturday’s Warm Up saw techno and dance music meet percussion with some of the most high-energy acts to hit the MoMA PS1 stage this summer. French Fries and Bambounou went b2b to start the day, bouncing different house and dance tracks off one another with their strong musical chemistry. Vessel’s live set of organic techno sounds then cast a darker atmosphere over the crowd. Ninos Du Brasil took the stage next donning white face-paint and mismatched leaves and twigs as headgear—essential for their wildly powerful percussion performance. Cut Hands followed with a more serious take on percussion, and Veronica Vasicka played a wonderfully classic house set. Ending the night was Nick Hook with an eclectic mix of house and hip-hop, complete with a crew of live horn players!
As we enter the final weeks of summer, be sure to join us at Warm Up next week for a day of true house music, with performances from Laraaji (live), Hashman Deejay, Pender Street Steppers, Kyle Hall, and Andrés!
