To raise awareness of Milwaukee gun crime, documentary company 371 Productions created Precious Lives, a radio series that gives a voice to the many Milwaukeeans living under the threat of daily violence. For the program, design agency Hanson Dodge Creative designed an online extension to inspire change in the community. The agency’s designed the site around a global audio player at the bottom of every page that enables users to continuously listen to episodes as they explore. Video backgrounds show lively scenes of Milwaukee schools and public spaces, creating an intimate connection between visitors and people who may be affected by gun crime. Users can group multiple episodes into playlists that can be shared on social media or downloaded. Promoted by local news outlets, Precious Lives and its website serve to educate Milwaukeeans on the issue surrounding gun violence and provide a much-needed resource for members of the community to find solutions.
